Jakarta Heritage
Colonial streets, canals and the old markets of Glodok and Kota Tua.
An independent tour operator in Jakarta, founded in 2016 to offer small-group and private journeys with licensed local guides.

Jakarta is often seen as a busy transit stop on the way to Bali. Yet the city holds five centuries of history, from the Sunda Kelapa harbour trade to the colonial architecture of Old Batavia and the Chinese merchant lanes of Glodok.
We started Kelana Journeys to offer a thoughtful alternative to mass-tourism lists. Each route is checked for realistic traffic pacing, cultural depth and reliable local guidance before it reaches our site.

Tea hills above Bandung and the sunrise rim of Mount Bromo in East Java.

Speedboat days in the Thousand Islands and boat routes from Labuan Bajo.
Four editorial criteria apply to every tour listed on our site. A route that fails one of them does not go on the list.
Routes are timed around Jakarta traffic. Stops are grouped by area, and the early start avoids the worst of the rush hour.
We reject tours with mandatory shopping stops, sponsored factories or commission-based culinary diversions.
Every experience is led by a licensed, English-speaking local guide who knows the history and the route in detail.
Partner links are direct, with the ticket inclusions and any fees written out in plain terms.
